I have a Bachelor's Degree from Carson Newman College.

This is my 16th year at Fairview-Marguerite. I started out as a Teacher's Assistant, then I moved to 4th grade.  I taught 4th grade for 9 years and have been teaching 3rd grade for 7 years.

 Welcome to the Third Grade!

My name is Angie Douglas and I have been teaching at Fairview-Marguerite for 16 years.  I have two sons and one grandson. Their names are Antonio, Nayn, and Ayden. I love basketball, football, and volleyball.  My favorite book is Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume.  I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling.  One of my favorite memories of teaching at Fairview-Marguerite was the Recycling Pageant.  Each grade level chose one teacher to dress completely in recycled material, then walk in the fashion show. I was chosen for our grade level and it was awesome listening to the students' ideas on how to dress me.  I had 2 liter coke bottles for slippers, several can tabs were put around my hoop earrings, using string and can tabs they made me a necklace, using string, a hula hoop, and newspapers my dress was constructed, and a used feathered bows was my drape.  Needless to say, the students voted me the winner.  I did feel like a winner because my students could tell me how each item I was dressed with could be recycled.  I love being a teacher and I love finding ways to help the students learn.  Being a teacher is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world.  I am so excited and eager to see where this school year takes me.
